![]() Sirens Seductive, contemplative, whimsical sirens of the seas and land have morphed for me over the last year or so. These originals, painted with blocks of wood and hand colored combined with the textures of the papers create a flow of work that encompasses the ebbs and flows of the universe. The Term "Sirens" from Greek Mythology, when sailors had been so tempted by the beauty of the Sirens song they would crash upon the rocky shores to find them. So often, as an artist I find myself following a call I never intended. I find images in spilled paint, shapes of torn paper, or just looking at the clouds. Those images start faint and dare me to define them. They call me away on a path I never intended to take. I feel no remorse for where I've been, only enlightenment and joy for where I am going. ![]() "The Maine landscape, so graphic and textural has always been the filter I see and dream through. I beleive it show in every piece I do from the figurative to the "Blue Fish" series. Although my current works are not landscapes per say, the sense of Maine's magic still persists within. In these new works, I seek my image in subtle grays and soft colors placed within the bold paint strokes of black ink on paper. If I render with care and observe, not expect, my muse will appear."
